Cathedral + Paradise Lost + Turisas - Sidewave announced!

Don’t miss your chance to farewell one of metals’ greats!
Closing the curtain on a stellar career spanning two decades, doom metal legends CATHEDRAL announce their last ever headline shows as part of two exclusive sidewaves in Sydney and Melbourne, giving Australian fans an opportunity to be a part of metal history.
Twenty years, in which they’ve proved themselves to be a band who not only transcend metal, but all or any genre classifications one might attempt to restrict them within. Yet far beyond all expectations, their ninth album, ‘The Guessing Game’ is their boldest outing and is “a collection of timeless tracks that could easily span the decades” – Rock Sound
CATHEDRAL’S legacy will well and truly continue, with the band releasing their final studio album  ‘The Last Spire’ in 2012 an expression of gratitude to their cult following.
PARADISE LOST have pioneered gothic metal. Their desire to evolve and stay ahead of musical trends continues with their latest effort ‘Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us’  “a record of epic beauty with so many moments of genius” – Rock Sound.
Get ready for battle! One of the most exciting live bands in the world; Finland’s battle metal masters TURISAS, is once again setting course for Australia.
TURISAS’S blistering live shows are etched in metal folklore so don’t miss the opportunity to witness one of the “artists of the decade” – Terrorizer

SHE CAN DJ PRESENTS MINX - MIX COMPILATION RELEASED MARCH 2 AND NATIONAL CLUB TOUR

EMI - Essential Artist
September 14, 2011 is not a date Minx (aka Rachel Phillips) will forget anytime soon.  At a spectacular awards night at Sydney’s exclusive Ivy nightclub, the Sydney-born house DJ was crowned the winner of EMI’s inaugural She Can DJ competition.

Now, Minx reveals her first EMI release on Friday March 2, ‘She Can DJ Presents Minx’ – a massive 78 minute big-room house music mix compilation, featuring many of the biggest dance music names from around the globe, several of who Minx has already played alongside.  From Swedish House Mafia to Avicci via Calvin Harris and deadmau5 through to Madeon....Minx leaves no gaps on the dancefloor; showcasing why she’s Australia’s No.1 female house music DJ!
Minx has also been working on two of her own original works and collaborations, ‘Chances’ (Instrumental Version) by Minx and Nordean & Minx Ft. Erik Hecht, ‘You & I’; both of which are included on ‘She Can DJ Presents Minx’ album.
Minx couldn’t be more ecstatic about the release, “To be releasing a compilation that contains some of the best dance music on the planet from many of my favourite artists and to have this mix also include my own original works, is a dream come true”.
To celebrate the release of ‘She Can DJ Presents Minx’, Minx will hit the club circuit for a national tour kicking off on Saturday February 25 at The Weekend, Melbourne playing back to back shows through til mid May.  If you’re yet to experience Minx on the decks, now is the time!  Current list of shows below, with more to be announced soon….
As a jet-setting DJ of seven years, Onelove’s first female resident DJ and a Quiksilver For Women ambassador, Minx’s hands were already pretty full, but as She Can DJ’s leading lady, life’s hit a whole new level as one of Australia’s most in-demand DJs.
Before the win had even sunk in, she was en route to the dance music Mecca of Ibiza to play the sets of her life at landmark clubs like Pacha, Nassau Beach Club and Café Mambo during the island’s infamous closing week.
Arriving home in 2011, she hit the ground running, playing some of the hottest nights of the social calendar, including EMI’s ARIA Awards after-party, Cleo Magazine’s Swimsuit Party, MTV’s Summer Party and WHO Weekly’s Sexiest People Party, before performing at the Sydney and Adelaide Stereosonic shows.
Minx had played Stereosonic four times before, but never like this. In Sydney, she opened the main arena in ANZ Stadium (officially Australia’s largest dance party), but it was in her previous hometown of Adelaide that delivered the biggest highlight. With several International DJs running late, she was asked to play before Swedish superstar Avicii to a packed main stage. “I don't think I stopped smiling for the rest of the weekend” she gushes.
Come 2012 and there’s no sign of taking her foot off the accelerator. If anything, she’s hitting full throttle.  One thing’s obvious, this red-hot star is ready to shine in a whole new light.

“HYRO DA HERO Is an undoubted star in the waiting” - Hyro Da Hero Sidewave announced!

HYRO DA HERO Is an undoubted star in the waiting” - Kerrang!

“Traditional rap fare bumps against raging Bad Brains-esque hardcore with a power few are currently harnessing” – 4/5 Rolling Stone

There are cycles in everything.  Seasons come and go. Trends pop and deflate. Careers rise and fall. Genres of music live and die. Once in a while, an artist steps up who doesn't quite follow the cycle. He doesn't pay heed to "What's cool." He doesn't give a shit about "Who's hot." He doesn't follow the zeitgeist but, rather, the zeitgeist follows him.

HYRO DA HERO is about to flip rap upside down, inside out and all around loading rock 'n' roll attitude into explosive, engaging and enthralling rap music resembling Nas fronting Rage Against The Machine.  This is evident on HYRO DA HERO’s debut album ‘Birth, School, Work, Death’ with Rock Sound calling it “groundbreaking for any genre” and Blunt magazine touting the tracks “generational anthems”.

However there is nothing quite like seeing HYRO DA HERO live, an enigmatic performer with a fiery live show "It all really goes down on stage. You need to hear and see this live." – HYRO DA HERO.

Swedish hardcore giants RAISED FIST have been tearing at the ears of fans like a rapid pit-bull on steroids for over 15 years releasing a procession of classic albums.

They can’t keep us down! Still around! Adding something new to the sound!”
So the battle cry goes up on RAISED FIST’S brutal fifth full-length Veil Of Ignorance, which captures the bands trademark chaotic and frenzied live shows with Metal Forge declaring Veil Of Ignorance “evokes the tension and intensity that leaves lesser bands cowering in their wake

RAISED FIST joins the brutal bill of Hatebreed, Cro –Mags and Biohazard

HATEBREED. Respected by peers. Revered by fans. An unstoppable force.

The hardcore legends have been annihilating mosh pits throughout the globe for over 17 brutal years.  HATEBREED’S music is like a universal language that so many speak and comprehend. Architects of positive, uplifting anthems that require and demand crowd participation with punktastic.com proclaiming “Tonight’s a schooling for any pretenders to the throne in how to do hardcore the right way”.

Before CRO-MAGS the idea of combining heavy metal and hardcore was unheard of.  They defined the hardcore/ metal genre with the release of their classic debut album ‘‘The Age Of Quarrel’ with Punk News describing it as a ‘masterpiece and ‘one of the most influential hardcore albums of all time’

Adding to the chaos is highly influential and newly reformed New Yorkers BIOHAZARD, whose intense fusion of hardcore, punk and trash metal has out lasted many fads and forged a career spanning over two decades and millions of album sales.

This February, IMAX Melbourne is giving visitors a chance to experience the world’s greatest rock band - The Rolling Stones - on the giant screen in a 90-minute concert movie. And with our Free Friend in Feb offer you can experience this, or any movie at IMAX Melbourne, with the person you love spending time with the most.

Rolling Stones: Live at the Max was filmed with IMAX cameras during their 1990 Urban Jungle Tour of Europe and sees the band completely fill the seven storey high IMAX screen.

According to reviewer Roger Ebert in a 1992 review, this is; ‘the greatest concert film ever made.’ Suntimes.com.

“Dance in the aisles as you experience The Stones rock it out on the world’s (3rd) largest screen in 15,000 watt digital surround sound,” said Mr. Morrison.
