To be filmed at Sydney’s historic Carriageworks site in Redfern in front of a live audience, THE PEOPLE SPEAK will feature Australia’s leading artists from stage and screen delivering the letters, songs and speeches of rebels, visionaries and protesters from Australia’s past.

These dramatic moments from our history will be brought to life on stage by a remarkable group of actors including Alex Dimitriades, Chris Haywood, John Jarratt, Claudia Karvan, Asher Keddie, Peter O’Brien, Leah Purcell, Magda Szubanski, Jack Thompson, David Wenham and Dan Wylie and interspersed with haunting musical performances by Tex Perkins, Julia Stone and Christine Anu.

THE PEOPLE SPEAK format was born in 2009 when actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, along with film producer Chris Moore collaborated with Howard Zinn, author of A People’s History of the United States, to construct a performed history of the United States as told from the perspective of its underdogs.

Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Marisa Tomei, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Josh Brolin and a host of others participated in the special – and two years later, Colin Firth, Sir Ben Kingsley, Joss Stone, Keira Knightley and Sir Ian McKellan were amongst the cast that staged THE PEOPLE SPEAK in the United Kingdom.

STORM SURFERS 3D MOVIE SET TO MAKE BIG WAVES

6ixty Foot Films and Madman Entertainment are pleased to announce the launch of Storm Surfers 3D, a ground-breaking new 3D adventure movie following best friends and surfing legends Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones on their quest to hunt down and ride the biggest, most dangerous waves in Australia.
Storm Surfers 3D premieres in Sydney on August 14 ahead of Special Event Screenings around the country with guest appearances from the fearless big-wave explorers. Limited release screenings follow in selected 3D cinemas nationally.

Surfing and innovative 3D cinematography converge in this unparalleled documentary following Tom, Ross, Meteorologist Ben Matson, 25 crew and over 1,000 kg of equipment on their mad, high-stakes race against the clock to conquer and film these massive waves, taking viewers on an incredible journey with them.
Storm Surfers 3D Producers Marcus Gillezeau and Ellenor Cox are thrilled with the level of interest both locally and abroad, citing this convergence as a world first.

“It was apparent from the outset that Storm Surfers was going to be a logistically and technically ambitious project, considering the technology required to shoot a surf movie in 3D was non-existent,” said Gillezeau.
Inspired by a desire to take ‘surf movies’ to a new place, the production team were up for the challenge, capturing over 1500 hours of footage and shooting at the highest 3D ratio, another world first.
Narrated by Toni Collette, with music score by Michael Yerserski and Richard Tognetti, Storm Surfers 3D is an incredible experience - immersing the viewer on a jaw-dropping journey as they ride behind Carroll and Clarke-Jones in a death-defying fifteen-foot wave.

ALEX PERRY PUTS FINAL TOUCHES ON MIRANDA KERR’S GOWN

Madame Tussauds Sydney unveils the latest addition to its already star-studded line-up

Sydney, Thursday, 5 July 2012 – Madame Tussauds Sydney today revealed the first wax figure of Australian-born supermodel Miranda Kerr with a little help from premier couturier Alex Perry. The much-adored, internationally renowned supermodel, known for her outstanding beauty and inextricable charm, is finally here to stay in her home country.

To stay true to her modelling background, Kerr’s wax figure was unveiled at Sydney's leading fashion photography studio; The Photo Studio in Broadway, with professional studio lighting and a wind machine. Wearing an Alex Perry designed scarlet red gown with a sequined bodice and red chiffon skirt that Kerr modelled at the David Jones Spring/Summer Fashion Parade in 2011, Perry made final touches to Kerr’s figure as she struck a pose for the camera.

“Miranda is such a loving icon to work with; she radiates beauty inside and out. It’s such an honour that she has chosen her wax figure to wear the scarlet red gown I designed for her. It looked absolutely gorgeous on her then and it still looks sensational on her now. I’m delighted that she has been selected by Madame Tussauds to be immortalised in wax – it’s such an awesome opportunity for her fans to get up close to her and see how beautiful she really is” said fashion designer, Alex Perry upon seeing Miranda’s wax figure.

Towering at her true height of 5’9”, Kerr had over 500 measurements and photographs taken by the Madame Tussauds team to create the stunning wax figure, which took over four months to complete.

“We are thrilled that Miranda is joining our star-studded attraction. It goes without saying that she will be a massive hit at Madame Tussauds Sydney for both locals and international visitors alike. Given this is the first time a wax figure of Miranda has been made, you can imagine how curious everyone is to see how her beauty has been translated into wax. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed, it is spot on and the detail is just flawless” said Hywel Mathias, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney.

WILL FERRELL SET TO WIN AUSSIE VOTES WHEN HE TOUCHES DOWN IN SYDNEY FOR THE AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE OF THE CAMPAIGN

Will Ferrell will take to the platform at the Australian premiere on   Sunday 5th August at Event Cinemas, George Street, Sydney.
When long-term congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell)
commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming
election, a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a
rival candidate and gain influence over their North
Carolina district. Their man: naïve Marty Huggins (Zach
Galifianakis), director of the local Tourism Center.
At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible
choice but, with the help of his new benefactors’
support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family’s
political connections, he soon becomes a contender
who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about.
As election day closes in, the two are locked in a dead
heat, with insults quickly escalating to injury until all
they care about is burying each other, in this mudslinging, back-stabbing, home-wrecking comedy from “Meet the Parents”  director Jay Roach that takes today’s political circus to its logical next level. Because even when you think campaign ethics have hit rock bottom, there’s room to dig a whole lot deeper.
