The Prime Minister's Prize for Australian History is for any work first published, produced or broadcast between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. It includes published books, documentary films, documentaries for radio or television, CD-ROMs, DVDs and other forms of multimedia.
The Prize will be awarded to an individual or a group for an outstanding publication or body of work that contributes significantly to an understanding of Australian history. The winner will receive an embossed gold medallion and a tax free grant of $80,000. Up to a maximum of four short listed runners-up will receive tax free grants of $5,000 each.
