Elen Levon to perform in Mandarin at Beijing’s
Gala World Music Festival this week!
Pop starlet set to dazzle an audience of over 1 billion…
If January is anything to go by, 2012 is going to be a phenomenal year for local pop sensation Elen Levon, who jets to Beijing this week as the stand-alone Australian representative at the annual Gala World Music Festival.
Thrilled to have been personally invited by the Beijing Government to perform her song ‘Sun Burns Out’ in Mandarin specially for the event, Elen said that “It’s an amazing honour to have been invited to perform at this very prestigious festival… I still can’t believe there will be over 1 billion people tuning in to see my performance – it’s mind-boggling! What a great start to 2012.”
Co-written with Brian McFadden, ‘Sun Burns Out’ is an upbeat, synth-heavy dance-floor filler. Elen’s Mandarin version of the song will be broadcast to over 1 billion people on 20th January via China’s largest television network, Beijing TV.
Elen Levon’s smashing debut single ‘Naughty’ made waves in the local electro-pop scene last year, gaining solid support from the likes of Channel V and MTV, along with the Today and Nova networks nationally. The follow-up single ‘Like A Girl (In Love)’, written by James Ash of Rogue Traders fame, will hit radio in early February. The video, to be shot in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh later this month, brings in the directorial talents of Sydney-based Benn Jae, who has worked with the likes of Havana Brown, Amy Meredith, Marvin Priest and more.
To round off a huge month for Elen, it has been confirmed that her single ‘Naughty’ will feature as a synch for global smash hit television series Gossip Girl on Fox8 across the month of January.
Watch this space, as 2012 promises to cement Elen’s place as one of the country’s leading ladies of pop!
