In an exciting collaboration Michael Chugg
Entertainment and Rob Potts have announced great news for the iconic Deniliquin
Ute Muster site.
The Deniliquin Ute Muster has long been on
the local calendar as the “must go to” event.
Now comes the exciting news that the site will become a regional event
centre, with a new musical event announced for the facility next year. Michael Chugg and Rob Potts will work with
Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd to hold the Deni Blues & Roots
Festival at Easter 2013.
The fabulous
first time two day event will be held over Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday
with headline names including Santana, Bonnie Raitt and Chris Isaak and more from
March 30 and 31st.
Making the
announcement Michael Chugg said, “We’re
so excited to bring this new event to Deniliquin for the first time. This is an
area with a strong tradition of bringing people together for a good time and
with the calibre acts on this line-up, they won’t be disappointed.”
CEO Potts
Entertainment, Rob Potts said, “To make a
successful festival you need a great site, access to lots of people, world
class staging and infrastructure and a killer line-up of great international
and local talent. The inaugural Deni Blues and Roots Festival at Easter on the
famous Deni Ute Muster site, brings all of these components together as over
one million holiday makers and locals take a break and play on the Murray and
Edward Rivers. We’re always excited about building a new festival, especially
when everything seems just right for the occasion.”
Chugg and
Potts have worked hard along with Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd Board
and staff when they announced their plans to run the muster site into a broader
entertainment complex from earlier this year, saying its implementation would
depend on government funding for site improvements. The funding, $500,000 from
Regional Development Australia, was confirmed earlier this year.
Matthew
Lazarus-Hall, CEO Chugg Entertainment said: “The
inaugural Deni Blues & Roots Festival is an exciting new event for us to be
a part of, having worked on a number of great festivals over the years that are
staged around the Easter long weekend, we know that this is the perfect time of
year for people to get away from their busy lives for a few days and enjoy some
great live music.”
