KillRockStar Big Dog Entertainment are excited to present 90's pop rock legends The Presidents Of The United States of America live in Australia in 2013 playing their classic, 5 x platinum, self-titled debut album in its entirety along with all their greatest hits.

In 1995 Seattle outfit Presidents Of The United States of America launched their self-titled debut album and in the process took the world by storm with their unique take on guitar based pop rock. Armed with their uniquely modified electric guitars, an arsenal of perfect infectious pop hooks and super-smart songwriting skills the band scored massive hits around the world with the singles Lump, Peaches and Kitty. Whilst there was no doubting the extreme catchiness of POTUSA's songs it was the undeniable sense of humor and fun with which they were delivered that really won the affection of music lovers of the decade.

The Presidents Of The United States of America's connection with this country has been a long and fruitful one with the band wholeheartedly embraced by Australian music lovers with their first two albums going five times and two times platinum respectively. Off the back of their 2004 album Love Everybody The Presidents toured Australia to packed houses selling out all shows in record time, so much so that they were back in the country playing to adoring fans some six short months later.

Formed by childhood friends Chris Ballew (lead vocals, two-string basitar) and Dave Dederer (three-string guitbass, backing vocals), the duo played together in a number of projects before forming The Presidents of the United States of America in 1990. The newly named outfit recorded a demo tape, which began circulating around the Seattle musical community and, in the process, earned them a cult following. Drummer Jason Finn joined the band in 1993 and within a year the Presidents became one of the most popular bands in Seattle.

The Reverend Horton Heat Australia 2013

Principal Entertainment presents the return of Texas psychobilly legends The Reverend Horton Heat, live in Australia in 2013.

The Reverend returns with his white hot band to deliver the good word from the bible of high-octane rock 'n' roll for his Australian disciples this May, 2013. Long held as the last true masters of country punk laden rockabilly, The Reverend Horton Heat have built a reputation as one of the most inspiring live bands of their generation, a fact not lost on Australian music lovers who've witnessed The Reverend tear up venues across the country making the man and his band a must see on each and every visit.

Breaking outta Dallas Texas in 1985 Jim Heath aka The Reverend Horton Heat distilled a potent brand of musical moonshine, blending the finest elements of punk, country, blues and good time hillbilly rock 'n' roll to come up with a brew that across the span of 9 studio albums remains as fresh and intoxicating as they day it was bottled. Building a strong cult following during the '90s through constant touring, manic showmanship, and a wicked sense of black humour, The Reverend Horton Heat shared with his contemporaries The Cramps, the role of championing this conglomeration of arcane music styles re-imagined to a point where they once again became vital and fresh.

A born hell-raiser of the non-manufactured kind The Reverend brings a real sense of danger back to rock 'n' roll, stories of sex, drugs, booze, and cars all set to a breakneck soundtrack of trailer trash guitars, street-level boogie grind and hell bent rhythm and booze. Rounded out by Jimbo Wallace on the upright bass and recently returned tub thumper Scott Churilla, The Reverend Horton Heat deliver verses from the gospel of rock with a fervour unmatched and an intensity that can only be described as religious.

ZZ Top rock legend Dusty Hill spotted at Hard Rock Hotel, Sydney, Australia

ZZ Top rock legend Dusty Hill spotted at Hard Rock Hotel, Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia - 14th March 2013

ZZ Top are known for a few things - legendary hard rock and blues music, partying hard, girls and their golden beards.

The beards threw off some news media Thursday night, but by sun-up we confirmed it was Dusty Hill (co-lead vocalist) - not Billy Gibbons.

Hard Rock Cafe Sydney has been on a roll as of late, with last weekend KISS demon Gene Simmons stopping bye, then there was Smash Mouth performing a few nights later, followed by Dusty Hill from ZZ Top popping in for a beer and feed last night.

Hard Rock Cafe Sydney is also part of the Hard Rock Rising - a global 'Battle Of The Bands' comp.

Don't blink or you will miss out on another massive happening event at Hard Rock Sydney.

Stay turned to Music News Australia and Media Man as we continue to cover the super cool and newsworthy happenings at Hard Rock Cafe Sydney.  Rock on!

ZZ TOP to perform at Metro Theatre...

Supported by Dead Daisies + Voodoo Sons

The legendary Texan rockers are making their way to The Metro for their only headline show in Sydney. Joining ZZ Top will be The Dead Daisies, featuring Jon Stevens and guitarist David Lowy.

ZZ Top are genuine roots musicians. Billy F Gibbons is one of America’s finest blues guitarists while Dusty Hill on bass and Frank Beard on drums (ironically the only member without a beard) provide the ultimate rhythm section support.

ZZ Top’s image has been as unchanging and memorable as their music. The respected Texan trio have been together for more than 40 years and were inducted by Keith Richards into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. ZZ Top are a solid touring unit and have performed to millions of fans around the world. The band’s iconography – beards, cars, girls and that magic keychain – transcend all bounds of geography and language. They’ve been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms and are true rock icons.

Most famous for their hits Legs, Gimme All Your Lovin’ and Sharp Dressed Man, ZZ Top are sure to thrill their Australian fans with their sturdy American blues and rock style. ZZ Top have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and achieved incredible chart success. Their 1983 album Eliminator was a multi-platinum smash in Australia and is “one of the greatest albums of the ‘80s” according to Rolling Stone magazine.

It’s a remarkable achievement that they’re still very much together after more than 40 years of being on the road and in the studio. ZZ Top released their fifteenth studio album, La Futura, in September 2012. Respected producer Rick Rubin produced their latest album La Futura.

“We’re the same three guys, bashing out the same three chords. The band’s mantra remains the same: Tone. Taste. Tenacity,” says Billy F Gibbons, guitarist extraordinaire.

Joining ZZ Top for these two shows is Australian rock band The Dead Daisies. The Dead Daisies feature Jon Stevens on vocals and David Lowy on guitar. Jon Stevens is one of Australia’s most popular and respected singers. He has had a remarkable career, from lead singer of rock band Noiseworks to successful solo artist. Jon and David first met in 2006 but it wasn’t until 2012 that they started writing songs together. With a mutual love of classic late ‘70s and early ‘80s rock and soul, The Dead Daisies were born. “Bad Company meets Foreigner via The Faces kind of vibe, big choruses, powerful melodies and strong hooks,” says Jon.

Don’t miss ZZ Top bring their unique, blues and rock style to the stage this March.

Cradle Of Filth Announce Australian Tour Supports & Opening Band Competition

Ahead of the band's Australian tour in May, Cradle of Filth main man Dani Filth has announced that Australian extreme noise terrorists The Amenta will be the main support for the legendary outfit's East Coast run of shows, whilst in Perth the main support will from melodic death metal outfit Claim The Throne. Along with the main supports it has also been announced that Cradle Of Filth will be holding a competition to decide the opening band in each state.

To enter head to www.facebook.com/KRBDE.touring to register band's details and best song. Bands must register their details through the purpose built Facebook application, which allows users to send a soundcloud link of their best song. The most suitable songs will be shortlisted and put to a public vote through the KillRockStar Entertainment Facebook page. The TOP 3 highest voted songs/bands in each city will then be presented to Dani Filth, who will pick the final winners to open the shows in each city himself! Registrations for bands close midnight Sunday 24th march.

Like all truly extreme artists, The Amenta has long been defined solely by its refusal to be defined. Formed in 2002 by Erik Miehs (Guitars) and Timothy Pope (Noise and Fx), now completed by Cain Cressall (Vocals), Robin Stone (Drums) and Dan Quinlan (Bass), the band quickly realised that their interests pointed more towards experimentation and a stubborn refusenik attitude. After countless overseas tours and a slew of uncompromising album releases 2013 sees The Amenta release their latest aurally assaulting LP Flesh Is Heir.

Formed in 2005, CLAIM THE THRONE have built a reputation for outrageous live performances and a unique style of metal. With a newly refined line-up in 2010, Triumph And Beyond displays the band at their peak with 12 tracks of fearless victory and its festive aftermath.

Known for their dynamic symphonic style of gothic black metal, along with the dark poetic lyrics from the hand of enigmatic front-man Dani Filth, Cradle of Filth formed in Suffolk in 1991 going on to become one of the UK’s most successful metal acts.

G.I. JOE: RETALIATION - Red carpet movie premiere tonight, Event Cinemas

G.I. JOE: RETALIATION - Red carpet movie premiere tonight, Event Cinemas, Sydney, Australia - 14th March 2013...

With Dwayne Johnson aka 'The Rock' (WWE Champion)

Finally The Rock has come to Sydney, Australia (as they say in pro wrestling WWE style).

Thousands of Dwayne Johnson and G.I Joe movie fans lined the red carpet and George Street, as security was at an all time high with dozens of police officers and security guards taking care of business (and helping protect some of the hottest movie stars on the planet).

Dozens of news media were there, all jockeying for position.

Some fans waited over 5 hours for a top position, and one lucky fan had his hand crafted oil painting of 'The Rock' autographed. He was lucky... there were simply too many fans there for Rocky to sign everything presented.

In between celeb appearances, masked Ninja warriors performed fight scenes and stunts that kept everyone entertained.

Dozens of other celebrities showed up to walk the red carpet, but only ROCKY got his name chanted. Rocky showed us in person why he is also known as "The Peoples Champion". Did we mention Rock showed up in some sort of armoured tank... that's what his early tweet was about.. #WhoTheHellNeedsLimos

Music News Australia would like to thank Paramount Pictures, Event Cinemas, and all the helpful PR, media and security people who looked after us so well.

This movie has smash hit written all over it. Whether your a ROCK, wrestling, G.I Joe or action movie, chances are you are going to love this movie.

This was a contender for 'Australian red carpet event of the year', and if you like action blockbusters, also add in 'movie of the year'.

We hear it's one of those movies that are totally awesome on the big screen, so if you don't usually go to the cinemas to see movies, seriously think about seeing this one, and the good news is that Aussies will be able to see it from March 28.

Media...

The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M.
