TRANSMISSION FILMS LAUNCHES TRANSMISSION HOME ENTERTAINMENT AND ANNOUNCES NEW GENERAL
MANAGER, HOME ENTERTAINMENT AND DIGITAL
Transmission Films today launched its official home entertainment and consumer product arm, Transmission Home Entertainment. This new division brings production, marketing and publicity for Transmission Films’ diverse range of bluray,DVD and digital product in-house for the first time in the company’s four-year history. Distribution and sales will remain
under the expert management of Paramount Home Entertainment Australia.
Sheree Gray, Senior Brand Manager, Acquisitions at Paramount Home Entertainment Australia, will take up the newly created position of General Manager, Home Entertainment and Digital in March. Sheree has worked closely with Transmission Films since its inception in 2008 and has helped the company successfully distribute over eighty titles through
Paramount Home Entertainment. With another fifty releases scheduled for 2012, Transmission is one of Australia’s most prolific home entertainment companies.
The role of General Manager, Home Entertainment and Digital will be pivotal in solidifyingbrand awareness and market share for Transmission’s quality home entertainment product. Sheree brings with her years of industry experience as well as the expertise and talent that saw her win two Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association awards for Best Marketing Campaign of the Year in 2011, for the Transmission/Paramount joint-release BENEATH HILL 60 and Paramount’s TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN.
Over the past four years, Transmission Films and Paramount Home Entertainment have converted numerous theatrical successes to top-selling blu-ray and DVD releases, including THE KING’S SPEECH, CHARLIE & BOOTS, BENEATH HILL 60, THE PAINTED VEIL, AN EDUCATION and THE KINGS OF MYKONOS: WOG BOY 2; while titles such as IRONCLAD,
JCVD and the upcoming HORRID HENRY have proven the companies’ savvy in the Direct to DVD market. Add to this the Transmission Series, Cannes Box Set, AFTER DARK ORIGINALS and CHARLIE CHAPLIN brands and you have one of the most innovative and successful home entertainment businesses in the country. Transmission Home Entertainment will continue to release the quality arthouse, independent, Australian, cult and award-winning titles that have seen the Transmission brand succeed thus far.
