The Star Welcomes Stevie Wonder for One Night Only

The Iconic Singer and Songwriter to Perform at The Star’s Lyric Theatre
Sydney’s new one-of-a-kind entertainment destination, The Star, has announced a special one-off concert by music icon Stevie Wonder on 26 October, 2011. Stevie will perform a single intimate concert in the 2,000 seat Lyric Theatre at The Star.

During his expansive career, Stevie Wonder has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has earned 49 Top 40 singles and 32 number one singles over the course of his career. Stevie Wonder has received 25 Grammy Awards, a prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for the song "I Just Called To Say I Love You" from the film "The Woman In Red."

Stevie Wonder is the latest global entertainer to confirm a performance at The Star, as part of its on-going opening celebrations. Elton John is also performing two sold out concerts in November.

The Star officially opened on 15 September 2011, revealing the first stage in an $870 million redevelopment and expansion including new bars, restaurants, a retail area, a café court and upscaled gaming facilities. Opening in late October 2011 is The Star’s new five-star lifestyle boutique hotel, The Darling, a 16 room spa, as well as New York chef David Chang’s Momofuku Seiobo restaurant, Adriano Zumbo’s patisserie and Chase Kojima’s contemporary Japanese restaurant, Sokyo.
