FOO FIGHTERS rock the world – literally!

The Frontier Touring Company confirm the recent Foo Fighters tour rocked the antipodes on a massive scale, setting house records and causing actual seismic earth tremors!
As though seven blistering sold out performances to almost 250,000 music fans and the christening of two new stadiums were not accomplishment enough for the rock legends, the tour set three house records and literally rocked New Zealand by causing seismic tremors detected by monitoring service GeoNet.
Performing to 50,000 fans at Auckland’s iconic Western Springs Speedway last week, seismic activity was detected 1.5 and 2 kilometres from the venue by GeoNet throughout the band’s performance.
As reported by GeoNet:
“The concert vibrations were recorded as a semi continuous harmonic signal with a peak osculation of 3Hz, i.e. the ground was shaking 3 times per second in a nice rhythmic motion…The cause of the shaking is most likely the weight of the 50,000 fans dancing, as 50,000 fans is equal to around 5,000 tonnes of mass moving (or moshing) on the ground for the duration of the concert.”
Unanimously hailed by the media as the biggest and best rock tour of the year and the pinnacle of live rock entertainment, Foo Fighters’ Australian tour set house records at NIB Stadium in Perth, AAMI Park in Melbourne and Gold Coast’s brand new AFL venue, Metricon Stadium. All of which are certainly no mean feat in the current climate of dwindling music festival attendances in this market.
“Pure, unadulterated, legendary stadium rock by the world's finest rock band, the Foo Fighters.”
- Triple M
“Our ears are still buzzing after marvelling at the best live concert to hit Perth all year - rock gods the Foo Fighters.”
The Sunday Times
“The biggest rock show of 2011.”
The West Australian
“Their masterclass in stadium rock demonstrated you don't need pyros and  circus tricks to stage one of the concerts of the year.”
The Daily Telegraph

Foo Fighters’ current album Wasting Light and DVD Back & Forth are both approaching double platinum with the album being the band’s fifth release to reach #1 on the ARIA album charts.
