American musician, artist, absinthe producer and all-round bad boy Marilyn Manson has been the controversial lead singer of eponymous band Marilyn Manson since 1989. The singer-songwriter, internationally renowned for his outrageous gothic look and polemical lyrics, has been at the forefront of the industrial metal scene since the band released its debut album Portrait of an American Family in 1994.

Manson has a loyal fanbase that spans generations and is one of few musicians who are still relevant after more than 20 years in the music business. Often labelled 'every parent's worst nightmare', Manson is not just a one-dimensional shock rocker - his lyrics are often critical of the United States of America, politics and the state of the world.

Best known for his mosh-pit inciting anthems Rock Is Dead, The Fight Song, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), The Nobodies, Tainted Love, Disposable Teens, I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me), Tourniquet, This is the New Shit, mOBSCENE and of course, The Beautiful People, Manson will partner up with fellow Soundwavers Coal Chamber, Wednesday 13 and Motionless in White this month for a series of festival sideshows.

Manson and co will perform at Eaton Hill Hotel in Brisbane on Friday, February 24; Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Wednesday, February 29 and Metro City in Perth on Tuesday, March 6
