YuuZoo and The Break launch in Australia

Bands battle it out to win chance to play alongside Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and more at The Bamboozle Festival this May!
Global social networking platform YuuZoo, which launched in Australia at Sydney’s Hard Rock CafĂ© on Wednesday with its first local partners, NRL team West Tigers and recording artist Shannon Noll, is thrilled to reveal details of The Break in Australia. An international contest, The Break will potentially provide one local band with the chance of a lifetime; jetting off to America to play the annual Bamboozle Festival at Asbury Park, New Jersey, in May!

A ‘battle of the bands’ style competition uniquely positioned on a social media platform, The Break asks unsigned bands to register with YuuZoo and upload their clips to the social networking platform. They then activate every friend and contact in their universe, enlisting their support and encouraging them to join or “friend” them on YuuZoo, with the act that accrues the most number of friends deemed the winning entrant. This band, which could come from Perth through to Paraguay and anywhere in between, will join four US based acts, to take the stage at The Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey, which runs from 18th – 20th May.

Ron Creevey, YuuZoo co-founder, said today, “The Break is already active in USA, where over 600 bands are battling it out as we speak.  We are excited to bring this to Australia and attract talented local bands to a global stage. The Break presents a unique opportunity for some of Australia’s most talented musicians to showcase their abilities on the international stage." As an additional bonus for Australian entrants, the band with the strongest figures will have the opportunity to perform to a live stadium audience in excess of 20,000 at a West Tigers home match at half time this year.  Three runners-up will also have a YuuZoo platform built for them, utilising all of the expertise of YuuZoo’s social media team.

Featuring over 100 bands across three days, Live Nation’s The Bamboozle Festival 2012 boasts a killer line-up that includes Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Blink 182 and Skrillex along with loads more!
