'Looking Through a Glass Onion' tour - Sydney; John Waters to perform tonight at Theatre Royal

John Waters stars in this critically-acclaimed production that pays homage to the music, mystery and memory of John Lennon.

Initially created by John Waters and Stewart D'Arrietta in 1992 as a two-man show, Looking Through a Glass Onion was an instant success. The show now returns twenty years later and will tour Australia one final time before heading to the United States.

Rather than being a cut-and-paste biography of John Lennon and covering his original recordings, this stage production explores the essence of the music icon through song and spoken word. On stage, with shadows from the lighting arrangement fluttering over his face, John Waters shies away from imitating the artist. Though he is so emotive in his performance, it lulls the audience into believing anything is possible. It is part concert and part biography.

The tour will visit the Dunstan Playhouse in Adelaide on the 27th and 28th of April; Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne from the 2nd to the 6th of May; the Theatre Royal in Sydney on the 11th of May; Newcastle City Hall on the 12th of May; The Concourse back in Sydney on the 13th of May; The Arts Centre on the Gold Coast on the 17th of May and the Astor Theatre in Perth on the 25th and 26th of May.
