Harry Potter The Exhibition: Wizard Weaves Magic At Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, by Eva Rinaldi - 19th July 2011

Today Sydney welcomed a new Harry Potter exhibition in that has but both Potter fans and news media into a frenzy.

A school group of 120 wizards er students, dressed up in Potter garb Hogwarts with robes, wands and all manner of magical accessories, were invited to a sneak preview of the upcoming Harry Potter – The Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum at 11am this morning.

The expo, not due to open till November, will feature props, costumes and set replicas from the film franchise.

It's strongly rumoured that two of Cate Blanchett's children, Dashiell John and Roman Robert were done up as Wizards, skipping class (so to speak) from a Hunter's Hill educational facility.

The red hot event was opened by Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner.  Most had some to see Matthew Lewis, the ultra talented 22 year-old actor who played Neville Longbottom in the flicks.

The expo has journeyed down under from New York, and is positioned to fill a need for fans of  Harry Potter and the Dealthly Hallows: Part 2.

The exhibition opens at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum on November 19 and runs to March 18, 2012.

The Powerhouse Museum maintains it's magic touch, and so might you if you're brave enough to attend.

And in an extra special treat Def Leppard they will be joined by American rockers Heart, who will be playing Australia for the very first time and Oz rock legends Choirboys.
Triple M Sydney's Becko jumped out of his is seat when he heard the news the rockers responsible for all those classic anthems from the Pyromania and Hysteria albums like "Love Bites", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Hysteria" and "Rocket" were coming down under.
"I was only seven when I was given a copy of Hysteria, my first album and most treasured of all time - I still listen to the original vinyl. I can't wait to see Def Leppard: the band that I grew up with and one of the greatest rock acts ever."
Dangerous Dave from Triple M Melbourne remembered: "In 1988 if your pencil case didn’t have an ACDC or Def Leppard logo on it you were destined for a lifetime of Rick Astley. These guys always impress on stage. I salute just one arm (Thanks Rick Allen)!".

This tour will differ from her previous concert schedules in that she will perform music exclusively from her chart topping CD NUMBER ONES. There will also be a focus on venues that will allow Janet to be up close and personal in a much more intimate setting.  In each selected city JANET will offer something different to her performance so no show will be the same.  This tour is JANET more revealed, more intimate, and more personal than ever before. Don't look for special effects.  Just listen to and look at Janet, as you have never seen her before.

Dolly Parton Returns To Australia

DOLLY PARTON
THE QUEEN OF COUNTRY
RETURNS TO AUSTRALIA

“An artist is: who she is, who she thinks she is, and who her fans think she is; and the closer those three are together, the more complete that artist is. None is more complete than her.”
KENNY ROGERS on Dolly Parton
With rumours flying about for months now, Chugg Entertainment are today thrilled to confirm that the legendary Dolly Parton will be returning to Australia for an almighty string of concerts this November.
The tour begins in Perth on Tuesday 8 November at Burswood Dome, before heading to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for a show on Saturday 12 November. The show rolls east to Sydney at Acer Arena on Tuesday 15 November, and then onwards to wine country for an outdoor show at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley on Saturday 19 November. Dolly and her band then head to Melbourne for shows on Tuesday 22 & Wednesday 23 November at Rod Laver Arena before finishing up at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday 25 & Saturday 26 November.
How does one begin to describe an icon like Dolly Parton? Singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress, philanthropist, businesswoman; this mighty talent’s list of credentials is worth every ounce of veneration she receives.
Hailed as ‘The Queen of Country Music,’ her four and a half decade career since her national chart debut has seen her become one of the most successful female artists in the history of the country genre, with twenty-five number one singles, and a record forty-one top 10 country albums. In addition to her illustrious music career, Parton’s foray into other ventures include a self-titled theme park, television variety shows and several successful films – including an Oscar nomination for her role in 9 to 5 – all of which have cemented her status as an American superstar.
Australian fans will be delighted when the Smoky Mountain Songbird takes the stage and shows us exactly why she is such a legend. With hits like “9 To 5”, “Here You Come Again”, “Jolene”, and of course the incomparable “I Will Always Love You”, audiences are guaranteed to see the show of a lifetime. With all new sets, costumes and even new music from her forthcoming album ‘Better Day’ to be released later this year, it is sure to make an evening spent with Dolly Parton a night to remember. The two and a half hour show will be a deeply personal affair as Dolly lets the audience inside; telling stories and interacting with fans in a wholly new show featuring a brand new production, lighting and video.
Dolly Parton has written over 4,000 songs, had numerous number 1 hits and won countless Grammy, CMA and ACM awards, not to mention enough gold and platinum albums to make even the folks at “Tiffany’s” blush.
Dolly Parton is the most honoured female country performer of all time. Achieving 25 RIAA certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, she has had 25 songs reach number 1 on the Billboard Country charts, a record for a female artist. She has 41 career top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, and she has 110 career charted singles over the past 40 years. All-inclusive sales of singles, albums, hits collections, paid digital downloads and compilation usage during her Hall of Fame career have reportedly topped a staggering 100 million records world-wide.
She has garnered 7 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and is one of only five female artists to win the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award.
Yet with all of the national and international recognition given to her, Dolly Parton calls the bronze statue of her, which stands on the courthouse lawn in her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee, her “greatest honour, because it came from the people who know me.”
In 1986, Dolly saw a cherished dream become a reality with the opening of her own theme park called Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains. The state’s number one tourist attraction, Dollywood was selected by the theme park industry as one of the top three theme parks in the world in 2006 and recently won its 17 Brass ring awards and the coveted ‘Applause Award’ for Best Theme Park in the World.
In 1988, she began the Dollywood Foundation to inspire children in her home community to dream more, learn more, do more and care more. Currently the foundation partners with local sponsors to provide the Dolly Parton Imagination Library across America, Canada and now across Europe, by giving every preschool child a book each month from the time he or she is born until the child reaches kindergarten. With the help of local sponsors, this program has expanded to over 800 communities in 41 states. Dolly says, “My dad was prouder of me for this program than for my music career. He thought it was grand that all the kids called me the Book Lady.”
Always dreaming and always looking forward, Dolly is busier than ever, working on various children’s projects, working on a new movie project and writing and recording, these projects are just a few of her many interests at the moment.  The phenomenon of Dolly Parton continues to flourish, as she remains one of the World’s true superstars.
Parton’s arrival on Australian shores in November this year, will be her first in nearly thirty years and is certain to be the milestone event of the 2011 touring calendar.
Dolly Parton fans with Visa Credit, Debit or Prepaid cards can gain access to presale tickets through Visa Entertainment. Advance Dolly Parton tour tickets across all seating categories, and reserved access to premium seats, will be available from 9.00am (local time), Tuesday 14 June 2011 until 5.00pm (local time), Thursday 16 June 2011 or until tickets sell out.  For more information on the Visa pre sale visit Visa Entertainment. Visa Entertainment members purchasing through the pre-sale will aslo be granted complimentary membership to Dolly Parton's "Dollyite" fan club, offering access to exclusive content and promotions.

Lady Gaga fans turn out in thousands without tickets despite NSW police warning; Some fans bruised egos et al, by Eva Rinaldi

Police warned Gaga fans without tickets to give it a miss and stay at home, but the monsters turned up in their 1000,s, mobbing outside Town Hall, and later following the Gaga contingent to their so called "secret bunker"... the Four Seasons Hotel.

The police had firm words of warning for the fans prior to the concert so no one can say they weren't warned "If you don't have a ticket, stay at home," said Superintendent Mark Walton, the policecommander of the city's central district. "Don't waste your time coming to town and stand out in the cold to look at a sandstone wall."

"Parents are urged to not allow their children to attend the city if they don't have a ticket," he said in a statement Tuesday.
True to his words there were no public appearances before or after the concert, and it was not be broadcast on live screens outside the venue.  Just few select A-list friends and a very small amount of news media folks got close to the Gaga.

Fans queued for up to 7 hours to see the singer perform three songs from her latest album — "Born This Way," ''The Edge of Glory" and "Judas" — at both venues.

Were their any shocks or surprises at the Monster Town Hall concert? Sort of. Lady Gaga performed at least one number in a wheelchair. An observer of Gaga's attire on the evening suggested it may have been both "Black Window" and bondage inspired. Out of the 5 or so costumes most felt the gold fashion number she wore while performing 'Born This Way' was the most attractive and eye grabbing.

The pop sensation drew in excess of  1,000 fans to Oxford Street in downtown Sydney when she gave unscheduled performances at two gay clubs, Nevermind and ARQ, on Monday night. She let her fans know about her impromptu plans via Twitter, where she has 11.5 million followers. Some of the photos from the ARQ event, as well as from the Monster Town Hall are for all to see on Flickr...look up Lady Gaga and Eva Rinaldi Photography.  Many of the best shots are appearing in national and international newspapers and their respective websites.
Police had feared that teenagers would once again come back to the city with false hopes and be left to wander, possibly getting into trouble.  Some fans were seen running amok outside the Four Seasons Hotel, and a number of police were seen exercising some force that one may argue as to if it was justified or not.  There's speculation that some police were photographed laying down the law to the obsessed fans outside Lady's Gaga's hotel of choice in Sydney.

The pop idol has used her music to push for gay and lesbian rights, but mistakenly thought that Prime Minster Julia Gillard was gay, having to re tape an interview re gay and lesbian rights, to try to ensure the PM or her minders didn't get their feathers ruffled.

Lady Gaga continues to be the hottest celebrity on the planet for now, and Australian police continue to have concerns as to exactly how to deal with some out of control, star struck fans when the pop and rock starts journey down under.

Laga Gaga Sydney Town Hall Concert Tonight; NSW Police Issue Warning, by Eva Rinaldi

It's a lucky 13th for some, and an unlucky and somewhat dangerous day for others - that's the sentiment from the message from the New South Wales Police today.

The boys and girls in blue are encouraging fans of Lady Gaga (without tickets for tonight’s exclusive concert), don't o come into the city. "Stay safe by staying at home". One may suggest the warning will fall on deaf ears by many of Gaga's "little monsters", not to mention the grown up monsters also.

Gaga will perform as only she can do with a private concert to invited guests only tonight insider Town Hall on famous George Street from approximately 7.30pm this evening.

The police are reminding everyone that the queen of Gaga will not be making a public appearance and monsters out on the street will not have much at all to be stimulated by - visually or via audio. There's simply no screens or sound, so fans may end up staring at each other, brick walls, traffic and lots police.

Music super fans may recall that other teen idol Justin Bieber came to Sydney in April last year but the Circular Quay proposed concert was cancelled due to genuine safety concerns due to crowd size and other factors.  It wasn't from lack of interest, that's for sure.

On Monday night massive queues built on Oxford St for two Lady Gaga performances / appearances - Nevermind and ARC.  Police were extremely busy and are concerned for youth who may get caught up in the hype when pop and rock stars hit 'Sin City' Sydney.

Superintendent Mark Walton, City Central Local Area Commander told the press "Police and event security will be closely managing the ticketed access to the concert throughout the event.

“Parents are urged to not allow their children to attend the city if they don’t have a ticket.  They will not be catered for and would be left to wander the city at night," he said.

"If you don’t have a ticket, stay at home.  Don’t waste your time coming to town and stand out in the cold to look at a sandstone wall," Supt Walton said.

So fans, if you have a ticket, well done and party hard, and others, it may be a good night to stay at home.

Stay tuned to this space for great photos and news updates later this evening as Lady Gaga mania continues to run wild.

Lady Gaga Does Sydney Monster Hall, by Eva Rinaldi - 13th July 201

The highly anticipated and must hyped 'Sydney Monster Hall' show, courtesy of Lady Gaga, has got on the way, and needless to say... everyone is just "Gaga" about it.

The 25 year old pop sex symbol et al did three new virginal costumes designed by the pride of Italy - Versace for the 1-hour Gaga Live event.

The set was specially made up to complement the already splendid Sydney Town Hall.

Security aka gorillas have been guarding the iconic building and keeping everything under wraps.

A leak to press earlier in the day went something like..."I am really excited. I've had all sorts of beautiful clothing made for the performance, special costumes just for that show".

"I built a stage just for this one performance. This is an absolute one-off. I did it all for my Australian fans. I'm not going to tell you the surprises. They would be so mad at you if I told you."

About 800 "Little Monsters" as the Gaga one calls them, snatched a lucky concert ticket.  It's understood about 25,000 entries were received. Somehow another 200 VIPs made an "in-demand A-list".  It's all about the 'Born This Way' album, making money (and creativity).

Hundreds of other Gaga fans and a select few news media were fortunate enough to get in to the Nevermind and Arq nightclubs last Monday evening. Eva Rinaldi Photography, the well known photography and music news entity, has posted a few of their photos live on their Flickr account.

It's widely believed that tonight's concert will be broadcast on Go!, Take40.com, Channel V and the Today network come July 29.

So, how did you enjoy the show little monsters. Let us know - we're happy to be you've outlet for Gaga experiences.

Lady Gaga Wows Fans At The ARQ, by Eva Rinaldi - 12th July 2011

Darlinghurst was hit with Lady Gaga mania in the latest party girl - publicity stunt fun and games as the mega star did a series of Sexy Sydney's gay and lesbian venues.

Nevermind and Arq will never be the same again.

"Thinking of going out in Sydney Tonight. How I wish we had a show. NEVERMIND, don't listen to me. Maybe i'll just go for a walk in the pARQ," she wrote on her Twitter to 11 million or so followers earlier in the day.

The lines outside the clubs looked to be at least six-people deep and began forming at the doors of the two sinful nightclubs near Taylor Square.

Only a lucky few hundred Gaga fans were let inside, with rumours that just a couple of media got in.

The pop and fashion icon was wearing a black widow - like dress, complete with webbed veil. But, that didn't last for long as she stripped down to little more than a tiny bra and black and gold - bondage-like undies. The adoring, almost worshiping crowd lapped it up, with at least one male fan literally taking a bite out of her action in the nether region around there.

The booming music vibrated the venue as what seemed to be around a thousand fans went head over heals and partied like never before.
