Brian McFadden will be joining Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart on their Australian tour in November/December.

McManus Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Brian McFadden will be joining the legendary Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart as a special guest for the 2011 Australian tour. McFadden will join the bill for the entire tour, playing shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Wollongong and Canberra.  Celebrated musician and songwriter Dave Stewart from Eurythmics will also be touring Australia for this very special show; tickets are on sale now for all Australian shows.

Brian McFadden has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.  The tour coincides with the release of Brian McFadden’s new album in October before heading out on the road with Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart throughout November and December.

McFadden states, “I am looking forward to getting back out and touring because the stage is where I feel most comfortable.”

Fans of both Fleetwood Mac and Eurythmics will be thrilled to know that Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart will be performing their greatest hits from their respective bands as well as highlights from their solo careers.

Apart from Stevie’s incredible work with Fleetwood Mac, she has also had an extensive solo career, collectively having more than 40 Top 50 hits and selling more than 140 million albums worldwide. Just a few of her many solo hits include Edge of Seventeen, Leather and Lace, Stand Back, Bella Donna, Rooms On Fire and Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around. Stevie will also be playing songs from Fleetwood Mac’s extensive back catalogue. Some of their most loved songs include Rhiannon, Gypsy, Sara, Landslide, Dreams and Seven Wonders.

Stevie recently celebrated her 63rd birthday at a once-in-a-lifetime special event in Los Angeles. Here Stevie also celebrated the release of her first solo album in more than a decade, In Your Dreams, which was the week's highest-charting new album when it was released in Australia. The first single from the album, Secret Love, was originally written for the Rumours album.

Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 Grammy Award winning Album of the Year, Rumours, stands as one of the greatest albums ever made. It has sold more than one million copies in Australia. The songs have stood the test of time and Rumours recently had a revival when it was introduced to a whole new generation of fans, thanks to a recent episode of Glee dedicated to this classic album. Following the episode, Rumours returned to the Australian charts at number two.

As well as Brian McFadden, Grammy and BRIT Award winning musician, songwriter and producer, Dave Stewart will also join Stevie Nicks on this Australian tour. Dave is best known for his work with Eurythmics and recently co-produced and co-wrote many of the songs on Stevie’s latest album, In Your Dreams. Dave Stewart’s music career spans three decades and more than 100 million album sales. Some of Dave’s biggest hits include I Only Want To Be With You (The Tourists) and Eurythmics hits Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), Missionary Man, Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, Would I Lie To You? and Thorn In My Side.

Alan Day & Dan O'Connor

Interviewed by: Music News Australia | 7th July 2011

Hi Alan,

How are you all today? Excellent, every thing’s going good.

When and how did you get your start playing music? When I could pick up a guitar, I can remember as far back  I grew up in a house always with music and a loving family, dad played the piano and the guitar, there was always music playing in the house.

What motivates you?
Everything motivates me, waking up in the morning and music.

When might Australians expect a live performance from you? Soundwave revolutions festival, I can’t wait for that, I love Australia and everything about Australia  I can’t wait to get there.

Who are your biggest influences?  Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Bon Iver they are a Folk Indie Band anything from the 1990's pop culture.

How did the band come about? When I was  freshman in high school I met Dan through my sister and then we all started to  Jam together including Jake our drummer.

I love your Father’s day song can you tell me a little bit about that? Me and Dan were stuck in a rut in our writing and we said lets write a fucken song,  the song and lyrics just spewed out of us it’s not like our heavy songs it’s a beautiful song it’s a pretty song not so heavy Rock that we normally play, we just had to release to the World,

What is your star sign, and do you and others think that it is the real you? I don’t know (lol)  I think I’m a Virgo and a messy one not organized at all.

What messages do you like to try to convey to your fans? Be yourself – everything could end tomorrow just fucken try to do whatever you want to do that makes you happy and enjoy your own company.

What do you do to relax, other that music? Movies, I love comedy and chick flicks, tones of music doco’s,  I’ve been watching long 8 hours of the Beatles doco’s and Queen,  the Beatles success had a lot of highs and lows a lot of things I can relate to.

What do you think is the strangest or most unique thing about you? I’m a big dreamer and big ideas I have huge goals almost impossible high expectations I believe everything if fucken possible.

What is the strangest or most unique thing about Dan? Omg he is a one of a kind a weird guy a positive outlook on life he is a unique songwriter a really great guy you will ever meet.

It was a pleasure to talk to you today Alan, look forward to seeing you guys play at the Soundwave Revolutions festival.

Thank you for the chat,  I look forward to it.

Bringing a unique blend of brutal breakdowns and soaring choruses, FOUR YEAR STRONG have cut their teeth into the Worcester hardcore scene and thirst for more. Their music incites a riot, leaving crowds blown away, and fired up.
One of music's premier pop punk bands, FYS were formed in Massachusetts in 2001 after O'Conner, Day, and Massucco met through mutual friends. With influences like Lifetime, Saves the Day, Gorilla Biscuits, and New Found Glory, FOUR YEAR STRONG has always strived to create music that they themselves would enjoy as listeners. Their motivation has manifested itself in a fluid mix of everything from punk pop to hardcore to indie rock.
Their distinct sound and incredibly energetic live shows has led to their inclusion on countless national tours and also caught the attention of Fallout Boy's Pete Wentz, who signed FYS to his label Decaydance Records in February 2008. The band's heightened profile hasn't stopped them from working diligently as they continued a hectic touring schedule and with this do-it-yourself determination, FOUR YEAR STRONG do not pretend to be anyone but themselves and have clearly risen above the hype.

Foo Fighters with special guest Tenacious D set to Rock Stadiums across Australia and NZ

The Frontier Touring Company are not just delighted, they’re damn well besides themselves with giddy excitement, to announce what is arguably THE biggest rock concerts of the summer.

#1 chart-toppers the Foo Fighters are returning to Australia and New Zealand for stadium shows and they’re bringing some pretty awesome friends in tow: none other than Tenacious D!

With over 15 years of experience, as documented in the band’s recently released DVD Back And Forth (Sony) and as headliners of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals, Foo Fighters have become arguably the premiere live American rock act the world over. Their upcoming stadium tour will surely remind their Australian and New Zealand fans just how the band has achieved its mastery of the live element as Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear lead these colossal crowds in singalongs of such classics from their multi-platinum, 6 time Grammy Award winning catalogue as ‘Everlong’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Learn To Fly’, ‘All My Life’, ‘Best Of You’, new staples ‘Rope’ and ‘Walk’ and more.

For their recently released seventh album, Wasting Light (Roswell Records through Sony), Foo Fighters returned to basics, recording in frontman Grohl’s garage with producer Butch Vig and churning out 11 prime examples of the trademark mix of melody and brawn that has made them one of the most beloved bands on the planet. The press were quick to stamp their approval, including a 4 star lead review from Rolling Stone who praised the albums 'fuzz-box brawn, mosh-pit hurrah choruses and iron-horse momentum' and hailed it as 'the best Foos album since the first two’. The sentiment was echoed by the public as Wasting Light debuted at #1 in 12 countries, including the RIANZ and ARIA album charts, where it occupied a place in the Australian Top 10 for over 2 months.

It’s no secret that Australia and New Zealand love the Foo Fighters and the sentiment is 100% reciprocated. Upon hearing of the natural disasters that affected Queensland and Christchurch earlier this year, the Foos were quick to donate their time and raise over $1 million for the relief funds:

“The Foo Fighters blitzed Brisbane’s Riverstage last night and no one at the venue will ever forget it…when 10,000 people punch the air and sing along with a song like ‘Generator’ that’s a lot of joy in the air when 10 weeks ago there was misery.”  Courier Mail

“Gigs like this don’t come around very often…This was one of those heart-pumping special shows that you know you’re lucky to be at.” NZ Herald

If the Foo Fighters tour wasn’t already exciting enough, no event can legitimately lay claim to the biggest rock concert of the year without including the band behind the “best song in the world”.  Oh yes, we’re talking about the one and only Tenacious D aka. Jack Black and Kyle Gass who last blew fans away with their 2007 tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Jack Black’s theatrical vocals and lyrical narrative coupled with Kyle Gass’ manic guitar skills will shred stadium crowds to pieces and take them on a sonic voyage to rock heaven and back, delivering an audience primed for the Foo Fighters to take the stage.

Though it seems this line-up could not possibly get any better, Frontier Touring are not done yet. Stay tuned for further announcements to hear who else will be rounding out this spectacular bill!

Australia and New Zealand make yourself word perfect for every Foos and D tune out there and you just may be worthy of what is set to be one of the biggest – and best – rock concerts of the year!

DEF LEPPARD ROCK AUSTRALIA THIS OCTOBERJOINED BY SPECIAL GUESTS HEART AND AUSTRALIAN ROCK BAND CHOIRBOYS

MEDIA RELEASE                                                                                                                                    7 July 2011

McManus Entertainment is thrilled to announce Def Leppard’s return to Australia in October. They will be joined by American rock band Heart, who will be touring Australia for the very first time.

With more than 65 million albums sold worldwide, Def Leppard - Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick "Sav" Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) - continue to be one of the most important forces in rock music.

Over the course of their career, the band has produced a series of classic groundbreaking albums (including Pyromania and Hysteria) that set the bar for generations of music fans and artists alike. The group’s spectacular live shows, filled with powerful rock anthems, continue to sell out venues worldwide. Their epic live show and huge arsenal of hits have become synonymous with their name, leading Def Leppard to be heralded as an institution in both the music and touring industry. The bands live shows clearly demonstrate why Def Leppard remain one of the most highly praised live rock bands of all time!

Def Leppard are one of the few rock bands to join the exclusive “diamond” club, receiving two diamond accreditations (for sales in excess of ten million units) for Pyromania and Hysteria. Pyromania (1983) was recently named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the “500 Greatest Albums” of all time. The UK’s Kerrang! Magazine chose Def Leppard’s show as one of their “greatest gigs of all time!”

With hits such as Pour Some Sugar On Me, Photograph, Let’s Get Rocked, Animal, Rock of Ages, When Love & Hate Collide and Love Bites, Def Leppard have become a staple on rock radio and music television worldwide.

Def Leppard’s new live album (2CD and DVD) Mirror Ball Live & More is available now through Riot! Entertainment.

Heart will be joining Def Leppard on their first ever tour of Australia. Their debut album Dreamboat Annie sailed into the Australian Top 10 in 1976. Heart showed the world that women can rock! Not only did the Wilson sisters (Ann and younger sister Nancy) lead the band, they wrote the songs and played the instruments too, making them the first women in rock to do so. Some of Heart’s biggest hits include Magic Man, All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You, These Dreams, Barracuda and they have even recorded a cover of John Farnham’s You’re The Voice. Throughout their 35 year career, Heart has sold more than 30 million records, had 22 Top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide and had a profound influence on rock music. In 2010 they returned to the Top 10 again with the critically acclaimed album Red Velvet Car.

“We are enormously excited to be bringing our show down under,” says lead singer Ann Wilson. “This is the fulfillment of a long-time dream.”

Joining them will be legendary Australian rock band Choirboys. With a career spanning 30 years, Choirboys will transport the audience back in time with hits including Run To Paradise, Boys Will Be Boys, Struggle Town and Never Gonna Die.

Def Leppard, Heart and Choirboys is a line up not to be missed!

The Trews announce Australian tour!

Monday 4th July 2011
MEDIA RELEASE: RELEASE IMMEDIATELY

The Trews announce Australian tour!
Canada’s premier rock outfit brings their unique sound back to Australia
Acclaimed Canadian rock band The Trews are thrilled to announce that they will once again grace Australian shores for a run of dates through NSW, SA, VIC and QLD this September and October.

The Trews wowed Australian audiences with their dynamic live shows earlier this year, when they played a string of packed out residencies in Sydney and Melbourne. East Coast music lovers were shown exactly why The Trews are one of Canada’s premier live music acts, with the band delivering show after show of flawless rock.

The four-piece outfit released their fourth studio album “Hope & Ruin” Bumstead/Code One (MGM) in Australia last month and have secured extensive airplay with the title track across the Triple M network nationally and Music Max. The powerful single “Hope & Ruin” was also synched for a major network promotion that aired for the month of May on Network Ten’s digital channel ONE.

On the American release of “Hope & Ruin”, Performer Magazine hailed the band as “… without a doubt, the greatest rock band of their generation”. US music website Alternative Addiction shared a similar sentiment, saying that “The band is too good for fans of great music not to enjoy”, and promising fans that they will “… find songs on this album that you’ll love for years…”.

Australian rock website Sludge Factory recently raved about The Trews’ record and live performances, saying that “Hope & Ruin is an album of love, loss, redemption and faith.  It is very polished and translates well from the kick-ass recent live show I saw them play at The Sando in Sydney”.
The Trews, who have toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses and KISS, are one of Canada’s hardest working and best-loved bands. They have claimed two Gold certified albums and, with “Hope & Ruin”, a huge eleven Top 10 singles including two chart –toppers.

Fresh from touring their home turf with Kid Rock, The Trews are delighted to be heading back to their ‘second home’ later this year. Be sure to catch The Trews in action, for a truly jaw-dropping live music experience!

“HOPE & RUIN” is available online and from all good record stores NOW!

Sydney Blues & Roots Festival delivers Baby Animals

Sunday 3rd July 2011
Sydney Blues & Roots Festival
delivers a stellar final bill
Baby Animals confirmed to headline event from 27th-30th October
New additions include Diesel, Folk Uke (USA), Abby Dobson,
Kim Churchill & Tim Chaisson (Canada)!

The Sydney Blues & Roots Festival has today revealed a final roster that showcases a selection of the most outstanding local and international blues, roots, rock, folk and acoustic acts on the music scene. In what can only be described as a major coup, iconic home-grown rockers BabyAnimals will headline the four-day event, taking place from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th October in Windsor, in Sydney’s North-West.

Baby Animals have been hard at work since reforming in 2007, having recently performed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in their hometown of Perth. One of Australia’s most revered rock bands, and featuring the stunning voice of Suze DeMarchi, Baby Animals promise to bring a taste of true rock n’ roll grit to Sydney’s premier blues event.

On the back of the release of his latest studio album ‘Under The Influence’, prolific local singer/songwriter Diesel joins the line-up for the first time this October. With two ARIA No.1 albums and multiple awards under his belt, Diesel will take the stage to celebrate his silver jubilee and is sure to deliver a terrific and memorable performance.

The daughters of music royalty, Folk Uke (USA) is Cathy Guthrie (daughter of Arlo Guthrie) and Amy Nelson (daughter of Willie Nelson). The duo combines sweet vocal harmonies with contagious melodies and explicit lyrics, a winning combination that earned the pair a cult following in 2005 after the release of their debut self-titled album. In Australia to tour their sophomore release ‘Reincarnation’, Folk Uke will have music lovers enthralled as soon as they hit the stage.

Abby Dobson, the voice of Leonardo’s Bride, makes her Sydney Blues & Roots Festival debut this year to great acclaim. Described as “… one of the most distinctive voices in Australian music…” by Melbourne’s The Age, Dobson has garnered numerous industry accolades over the years, along with an APRA Song Of The Year award for the ARIA chart-topping single ‘Even When I’m Sleeping’.

Gracing the festival bill alongside these illustrious acts is local guitarist and singer/songwriter Kim Churchill. One of Australia’s most exciting new artists, Kim has wowed audiences at festivals around the country including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Woodford Folk Festival and the Queenscliff Music Festival among others. TheSydney Blues & Roots Festival will see another talented young star on the rise take the stage in the form of Canada’s Tim Chaisson. A gifted multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, Tim performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, topped Canada’s MuchMoreMusic and East Coast Countdown charts with his latest single ‘Broken Hearted Beat’, and is on the cusp of releasing his acclaimed fourth studio album in Australia.

Festival Creative Director Steve Griffiths today said, “Geoff Trio and I at Code One were very pleased to be invited to curate this year’s Sydney Blues & Roots Festival. The organisers wanted to expand the reach of the event to include genres related to and descended from the blues, and we’re delighted to have such a dynamic range of artists on board. We’ve worked hard to assemble a bill that will satisfy hard-core blues fans, but will also excite lovers of great contemporary live music”.

Adding to this year’s dynamic mix is Afrocolombian rock/roots outfit Watussi, along with up-and-coming local blues/rock act The Snowdroppers, who were last year heralded as one of the top 10 bands to watch by the Sydney Morning Herald and Rolling Stone magazine. America’s Bushwalla will deliver his unique blend of Southern Californianfunk, folk, freestyle, acoustic and hip-hop to festival audiences and is sure to have audiences grooving along to his infectious beats. This eclectic mix of talented acts joins Australian favourites Jeff Lang and Ash Grunwald, and the voice of Canada’s The Tea Party, Jeff Martin.

Sydney’s premier blues and roots event will see a plethora of established and up-and-coming acts descend on some of the best venues in the Hawkesbury region from 27th October. Music lovers, don’t miss out on this one-off live experience!

Ryan Reynolds to shine at the Australian Premiere- 1st July 2011

Actor Ryan Reynolds will walk the red carpet in Melbourne, on August 9, and Sydney, on August 10, to promote his new film, Green Lantern (out August 11).
Stepping into action mode, Reynolds plays a test pilot who gains superhero powers when he's sworn into a virtuous brotherhood called the Green Lantern Corp. The film also stars Blake Lively who plays Carol, a fellow test pilot and childhood love interest.

Green Latern recently opened with a bang at the US box office, taking the number-one spot (beating Jim Carrey's Mr. Popper's Penguins and Steven Spielberg's Super 8), and is expected to do just as well here.
